Instinctively for whatever reason I go to google, and scour around for no longer than 10 seconds to find a website that looks legit enough like a source for KMS. I'm not sure what happened exactly with my key, but I did use KMS for office and the like, so maybe the recent update from defender also removed my licence key for windows along with it, or KMS might just overwrite it. I'm don't know what came over me I saw the 'activate windows' watermark for the first time in years, which was extremely odd because I knew for a fact that I had upgraded to windows 10 from the most legitimate copy of windows 8 anyone could get their hands on (it was a gift from a family member whom at the time worked as a software engineer for microsoft). This'll be a longer story, but I think it's quite interesting.
